The NBL is in discussions with the Victorian Government about the possibility of hosting all nine teams in Victoria after the Australian Open tennis tournament.
While most games would likely be played at Melbourne Arena, NBL chief executive Jeremy Loeliger told The Age the league hadn't ruled out utilising regional Victoria.

"Victoria prides itself as the home of basketball in Australia and its credentials extend well beyond metropolitan Melbourne into regional Victoria where restrictions are already being eased and there are some fantastic basketball venues that could be utilised," Loeliger said.
Ballarat along with Bendigo have both recently updated their stadiums and showcourts.
Basketball Ballarat chief executive Peter Eddy said while Ballarat has not yet been canvassed about such an opportunity, it is something that would be considered very favourably.
"Having hosted the pre-season NBL Blitz in 2018 we know that we have the capacity to present such an event in Ballarat," he said.
"It would also be another positive step in Ballarat's post COVID recovery plan if we were offered games.
"Our city would benefit from the sports media spotlight falling on Ballarat."
