In a state government media release, regional Victorians will be able to re-book and take learner tests and driving tests, and those whose tests were postponed in March will be prioritised.
More than 5000 tests in regional Victoria were postponed when the pandemic hit, and 25,000 more people were unable to book a test at all, according to the release.
Anyone whose test has been postponed will be contacted by VicRoads to arrange a new appointment, in order of cancellation.
New tests can be booked when the backlog is cleared.
While tests have been suspended, VicRoads have been offering licence tests for people who would have faced undue hardship from not having their learner permit or licence. This option will continue to be available until the availability of new appointments returns to normal.
"The Chief Health Officer has outlined a range of measures to allow drive testing to commence safely for the workforce and public across regional Victoria," the release states.
"No one should be participating in a driving test if they are unwell."
