The annual Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Graduate Outcomes survey last week found Federation University was the second highest performing university in Australia for postgraduate employment, and eighth for undergraduate.
Three years after graduation, 98.2 per cent of postgraduate students were fully employed and 92.3 per cent of undergraduate students.
"These outstanding results demonstrate the real-life, future ready education that we provide our undergraduate and postgraduate students," said Federation University vice chancellor Professor Duncan Bentley.
"We are extremely proud to have been recognised in this way for our graduates' employment outcomes, and see it as a testament to the quality of our teaching, our collaboration with industry and our support for students during their learning and employment journey.
"It is particularly pleasing that this survey's results reflect that our graduates are experiencing longer-term benefits of their tertiary education, three years after graduating."
Three years after graduation, all 109 of Australia's universities had a full time employment rate for undergraduates above 81 per cent.
IN OTHER NEWS
Results from across all Australia's tertiary institutions found that, immediately after graduation, almost 41 per cent of undergraduates felt their skills and qualifications were not fully utilised, but within three years that number dropped to 26.7 per cent.
Almost three quarters of undergraduates working full time after graduation were employed in managerial and professional occupations, increasing to more than 80 per cent after three years.
And for those opting for further study immediately after graduation, health, society and culture, and natural and physical sciences were the most popular fields.
