While it is still undecided where the play equipment will go, there is real hopes that it will be able to provide a sensory play space for many of Pinarc Disability Support's clients.

Pinarc Disability Support chief executive Marianne Hubbard said much of the equipment would be dismantled from the Delacombe site this week.

"Obviously we need the time to complete some planning, however I can confirm that we will be using smart technology from our social enterprise EasyTech Living to create a sensory play area to provide something really special for the disability community in Ballarat," Ms Hubbard said.

"I don't have the details of the where or when but we are very excited that the play equipment will remain in Ballarat whilst also providing an opportunity to grow Pinarc services.

"The play equipment has been largely dismantled and the scaffolding will hopefully come down on Friday of this week."

It was announced earlier this month the beloved indoor-playground would be shutting its doors after its building was sold and the new owners requested a vacated space by the start of October.

Happy Jack's owners chose not to comment when contacted, but in a social media post they confirmed the sad news.

"This has been a difficult decision to accept on top of a challenging year," the post states.

"We have enjoyed the last 18 months of growing the business and will miss each and every child in our program.

"We have had many happy memories of birthdays, surprises and the gathering of loved ones and we thank you for letting us be a part of those special celebrations.

"There have been many laughs and fun times in our playground and our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye."

UPDATE:

The building's owner submitted the following statement:

"The Courier, quoting social media and dated 22/9/20, leads one to believe that the building was sold from under the tenant, Happy Jacks, when in fact it was Happy Jacks that initiated the original contact with the potential new tenant to take over Happy Jacks lease," they wrote.

"Subsequent talks have led to a potential sale of the building with the original tenant being released from their lease, on a date of their choosing, as was their wish.

"Under no circumstances was any pressure applied by the building owners, our self-managed super fund, to end their lease of 1 Icon Drive."
