Defence lawyer David Tamanika appeared for Obiyo Chigozie Nwigwe at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Thursday for a committal mention.
Nwigwe, 44, is facing six charges related to alleged sexual offences against a girl under the age of 16.
Nwigwe's charge sheets reveal he is accused of grooming, intentionally sexually penetrating the girl a number of times, touching her and sending her indecent images between January and April 2020.
Nwigwe had indicated he would plead guilty to those charges at a court hearing in September.
The court heard on Thursday the complainant had provided further information to police and additional charges were likely to be filed before the next court date.
Nwigwe is also facing two charges of sexually touching a second complainant and has indicated he would plead not guilty to those charges.
The case will return to court in November when Nwigwe will make a summary jurisdiction application for the two charges alleging sexual touching of the second complainant to be heard in the magistrates' court.
There will be a committal mention for the six offences relating to the first complainant and any new charges on the same date.
Nwigwe remains on bail. He did not appear at court.
