Trevor Scott, 27, refused to accompany custody officers into the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Friday afternoon.
Scott's charge sheets, obtained by The Courier, show he is charged with six alleged offences.
He is accused of intentionally shooting a man in the leg with a firearm in Lake Wendouree on Thursday, causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury and placing the man in danger of death.
He is also charged with using a firearm as a prohibited person on Thursday, possessing ammunition without holding a licence on Friday and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Giles Brown said the firearm involved had not been located.
He told the court police would complete a forensic investigation of fingerprints, DNA and gunshot residue from a jumper.
Mr Scott was remanded in custody and will appear at court on January 14 via video link for a committal mention.
Defence lawyer Nikhil Sood said Scott had an eye injury and requested for him to receive medical treatment.
Scott did not make an application for bail.
