Creswick police recently wrapped up an operation targeting driving offences after dark - specifically hoon driving and unlicensed and disqualified drivers.
Along with youth offending, addressing hoon driving and other driving offences is a key priority for Creswick police, with residents having long raised concerns about hooning through the streets after the town's police clock off for the night.
Throughout the operation, police impounded two vehicles from people who were driving while disqualified, issued 14 infringement notices to drivers for traffic-related offences and two to people for drink driving and failing to accompany police for a breath test.
A further four people were summonsed to appear in court for driving offences.
Sergeant Brett Duncan said he was pleased with the results.
Deeming the operation a success, he said the town's police would start to regularly work similar shifts into the early hours of the morning so they could crack down on driving offences.
"The results were definitely a success and that's why we intend to continue rostering similar shifts to the ones worked during the operation," Sergeant Duncan said.

This is possible as Creswick police are now back to full capacity - with a Sergeant and three other members stationed in the town.
It is also expected that this number could increase next year.
"Regardless of [it being] day or night, if you are caught driving without a licence, or hoon driving, your vehicle will be impounded," Sergeant Duncan said.
"We have a zero tolerance approach to this."
