Many many thanks to all the fabulous people who were so kind when I recently tripped outside the Pleasant Street Ryan's IGA.
This includes the many people going in and out stopped and offered help and advice.
A big thanks to the staff for their kindness and for checking me out.
Then, special thanks to two young men who hoisted me up on the count of three and to the mystery person who pushed the chair in behind.
They checked me through as I did myself, as I learnt in the Army years ago.
Thanks to the manager for his kindness too and to the lady for letting me know that she thought I had hit my head.
This information was important in case of concussion, or damage.
Luckily I fell in my sleeping position so my new hip and shoulder fell in the safest position for them. Precautionary X-rays proved they were okay.
The fall was due to my own clumsiness, but it gave me the chance to see how many genuinely nice people there around, something we tend to forget with television constantly brainwashing us by incessant comments on how terrible everything is.
It was lovely to be welcomed back by so many staff members the next time I went shopping there.
Much appreciated everyone.
Bernadette Ackland, Ballarat.
