A Professional Footballers Australia survey gave the Ballarat venue a four-star rating.
Players rated the playing surface on four measures - pace, hardness, smoothness and overall quality.
Mars Stadium received four out of five stars on smoothness and overall quality.
The player survey considered the ground a little on the hard side and marginally faster than what they would consider ideal.
Ballarat was one of three grounds Western United played home games on in an COVID-19 interrupted season.
United originally scheduled four games for Mars Stadium, but only played two before the COVID-19 pandemic intervened.
Wellington Phoenix defeated Western United 3-1 in December and then Brisbane Roar had the better of United 1-0 in February.
Mars Stadium also received a tick for atmosphere among the 17 stadiums used in the A-League.
It was given a 3.0, with average score being 2.99.

Western United's other two home venues, GMHBA Stadium in Geelong and Footscray's Whitten Oval, received 2.9 and 3.0 respectively.
United will likely continue to play home matches in Ballarat for another two years.
