The former North Ballarat City player has lodged a clearance to join the Central Highlands Football League club from North Geelong, where he featured last season.
Vanderkley enjoyed an outstanding campaign with the Geelong and District club in 2019, winning its senior best and fairest award.
He last played with North back in 2018, but only managed a handful of reserves games that year.
Vanderkley has a connection to new Beaufort joint-coaches Brendan Howard and Mitch Jenkins, who are both from North Ballarat.
"He had a really good year last year and he'll help strengthen our backline further, which has always been one of our strongest and most consistent lines," Howard said.
Beaufort reached finals in 2019 under former coach Rohan Brown, but was defeated in the semis by Gordon. Vanderkley played 16 senior games for North Geelong last year, with the team finishing seventh on the ladder.
