Damascus is one team setting the pace in a new-look virtual Run For a Cause this month, collectively adding steps to make an impact.
To keep moving is the mission.
Damascus sports coordinator Nicole Hexter called on students and staff to take time away from screens to test if they could walk, run and row to complete a lap of Australia in 11 days for The Great Damascus Aussie Adventure during remote learning. They logged more than 15,055 kilometres with prizes for consistency up for grabs.
Ms Hexter said staff and students, including year 12s, found the challenge helped to keep note of personal care and well-being.
With classes back on site, Ms Hexter said the challenge now was to keep momentum.
It adds an element of accountability and gives you a goal to strive for at the end.

"I'm hoping more people will take up the opportunity in Run for a Cause," Ms Hexter said. "It adds an element of accountability and gives you a goal to strive for at the end."
The Ballarat Foundation's annual fun run event is for participants to set a personal kilometre goal for November.
Money raised will support the foundation's children's literacy program, Ballarat Reads and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library that provides children with a free book every month.
MORE INSPIRATION TO MOVE
Damascus year seven Ryan Millen plans to track 20 to 30 kilometres this month. He ran in the event at Victoria Park last year and this time will get moving with his mum Tanya.
Ryan said being involved felt important. He said it was a way he could help children in the community who did not have books to improve their opportunities in reading.
Ryan logged 90km in The Great Damascus Aussie Adventure and was one of 111 year sevens involved.
Ms Hexter said the new challenge would be beneficial mentally and physically for senior students in exam time.
