Hayes threw the listed 2000m feature into the mix after So Si Bon took out the group 3 Eclipse Stakes, 1800m, at Sandown on Saturday.

"He's a great horse because he loves being in-training," said Hayes, trains the seven-year-old in partnership with Tom Dabernig.

"He's been in for a very long time. If he pulls up well we wouldn't be against backing him up next week in the Ballarat Cup. It could be an option for us."

So Si Bon ($9.50) had the better of stablemate Power Scheme ($16) in the Eclipse, with Homesman ($7) a close-up third.

Nominations close for the Ballarat Cup meeting close on Monday, when weights will also be declared for the metropolitan class meeting.

THE Warrnambool/Ballarat stable of Symon Wilde is flying.

Wilde had his sixth win in eight days at Sandown on Saturday, with emerging three-year-old Allibor ($4.40) winning the group 2 $250,000 Sandown Guineas, 1600m.

Allibor went into the feature as a maiden with two placings from three starts.

Wilde is hoping Allibor is the marquee horse his stable has been looking for.

Stable representative Liam Hoy said he just so rapt for Symon and the team.

"They work very hard in Warrnambool and Ballarat."

From Warrnambool, Wilde set up a satellite stable in Ballarat in 2016,

As well as having access to additional training facilities in Ballarat such as the uphill straight track, Wilde chose the location because of it being more central.

"Ballarat just opens so many more doors - it's so central to race meetings at places like Seymour and we can even get to Swan Hill and then down to Cranbourne," he said at the time.

Wilde also uses Ballarat as a stopover for horses running in Melbourne - reducing travel time on race day.

Wilde's other wins in the past week have come at Moonee Valley with Humble Pie on Friday night, Hamilton, Bendigo, Ararat and Geelong.
