The Magpies have left go Flynn Appleby, while the Lions have cut Cedric Cox
They were cut as AFL clubs met a list deadline on Wednesday.
The Magpies recruited Appleby via the 2017 rookie draft with pick six.
Appleby debuted in 2018 and made 11 AFL appearances in his three years with Collingwood.
The 21-year-old is originally from Cohuna in northern Victoria and was a boarder at Ballarat Clarendon College.
He represented the Rebels in the Vic Country under-16 carnival before graduating to the TAC Cup via Ballarat Swans and North Ballarat City under-18.5 ranks.
Appleby also took the opportunity to be part of a Head of the Lake-winning crew with Ballarat Clarendon College.
Cox requested a move to Western Australia during the trade period, but nothing came of it.
Like Appleby, Cox grew up outside the Rebels' zone and moved to the region to pursue his football.
From the remote Western Australian community of Halls Creek, Cox moved to Camperdown in 2016, playing with the Hampden league club before making his Rebels debut mid-season.
The now 23-year-old was recruited by the Lions in the national draft the same year and played his first AFL game in 2017.
Cox played 13 AFL games.
