This week, The Courier was invited to come along for a sneak peak inside the new complex which has taken shape on a former gravel carpark to the north of Ballarat Station.
The property features 77 rooms, both studio and apartment style accommodation. It also has a gymnasium, business lounge, restaurant chargeback, pantry shopping for groceries and guest laundry services.
Quest's growth and capital strategy general manager James Shields said despite a challenging year for the accommodation and tourism sectors, the build had gone to plan and was ready to open.
"Quest is primarily focused on growth in regional and suburban locations, where the corporate traveller needs to be," he said. "While the business market has retracted this year, we know it will go from strength to strength in 2021 and beyond, particularly with a number of major infrastructure projects happening in Ballarat.
"Located right next to Ballarat Station, just over an hour from Southern Cross, it really is the perfect choice for people coming to Ballarat."
