While born and bred near Warrnambool and drafted via the Oakleigh Chargers, the highly-touted youngster started his NAB League career with the Rebels here in Ballarat.
He was selected by the Adelaide Crows, but was quickly taken by the Western Bulldogs, which had the draft points to match the bid.
Ugle-Hagan has been with the Bulldogs as part of their Next Generation Academy.
The now 18-year-old forward played a handful of NAB League matches with the Rebels in 2018 before heading to Scotch College and then moving to the Chargers, where he won a flag in 2019.
GWV Rebels regional talent operations lead Phil Partington was thrilled for his former player.
"The GWV Rebels are proud to have assisted Jamarra in his journey into the AFL," he said.
"Jamarra played in the GWV Rebels under-16 boys team and four games in our NAB League program as a 16-year-old with many of his South Warrnambool Football Club teammates.
"I look forward to continuing watching Jamarra develop with the AFL."
