Seven male and six female have been selected for state development program stage two trials.
The program was formerly branded as the National Intensive Training Program.
It is the first step on the way to representing Victoria Country and Victoria.
Under-16 boys and girls will gather at Bendigo on January 16 and under-18s at the same venue on January 17.
The state development program is part of the Victorian high performance pathway.
The Ballarat development hub's players to make the cut hail from across western Victoria, including centres such as Ararat, Bacchus Marsh, Portland and Brookfield south of Melton.
