The Courier understands the umpire used the camera to overturn a decision in a clash between Mt Clear and Golden Point at Eastern Oval. The camera was owned and operated by Mt Clear, which uses it to collect footage for internal use.

Although convenient to have on hand, BCA president Rob Florence said the board would likely have to talk with umpires about not relying on private videos.
"We're going to have to have a discussion with the umpires because that's not reasonable given there is one at that game and not at any of the others," he said.
"It's something we'll need to follow up."
The camera was utilised after an on-field decision saw Mt Clear batsman Matthew Goonan mistakenly run out. The decision, had it stood, would have cost Goonan an eventual century.
Mt Clear captain Jarrod Burns said both sides agreed to review the footage following the play.
"They wen't for a single and John Butler has run to the keepers' end but the umpire thought the batsman hadn't swapped," he said.
"It was lucky we had the video there."
