Justice had some of his biggest moments with Sokyola, taking him to a 78 wins and $1.89m in earnings in the early 2000s.
He won the Victoria Cup and two Miracle Miles.
Sokyola's career ended in 2007 and he was quickly recognised by Harness racing Victoria with a race named in his honour in the same year.
Justice had the distinction of winning the second and third editions of the feature his champion pacer Smoken Up.
Can he do it again a decade later?
Justice has a big opportunity with Rishi in Ballarat at Saturday night's Boxing Day meeting.
The Sokyola Sprint is usually run at Melton and this is the first time it has been run at Bray Raceway, where the Ballarat and District Trotting Club's post-Christmas meeting has run a feature sprint since 2013.
Smoken Up won the race for Justice in 2014, running a then track record 1:53.1 for 1609m.
The race moved to 1710m in 2018.
Rishi has already stamped himself as highly capable over the shorter distances.
The six-year-old won the group 2 Smoken Up Sprint, 1720m, at Melton in October in a slashing mile rate of 1:50.2.
Rishi does not win out of turn, but if he can find the right spot in the small field he will be right in the finish.
The Anthony Butt-trained and driven Wolf Stride is the one to beat.
The four-year-old has enormous potential and already has 11 wins in 21 starts.
Wolf Stride has a career-best 1:51.3 in winning over 1609m at Menangle,
He has won twice over 1720m at Melton since arriving in Victoria late in the year, running 1:52.1 and 1:52.3.
Other Sokyola Sprint runners' best winning mile rates:
Somebeachsomewhere 1:52.1
Brocks Territory 1:51.1
Somewhere Secret 1:53.8
Code Black 1:50.8
Since going to 1710m, Ballarat's Boxing Day sprints have been won by Rackemup Tigerpie for trainer Michael Stanley in 1:52.1 and now at stud The Storm Inside for trainer Emma Stewart in 1:50.7.
