Chudiar Tharjiath, Leighton Lauton and Alex Baker have been training with Western United for the last month as it gears up for the 2021 campaign.
If they failed to crack the squad, it was unclear whether the trio would return to City or join United's youth National Premier League three program, which was launched this month.

Sproules said if they failed to land an A-League contract, he expected them to play out of Ballarat next season.
"I can't see them playing against us. The purpose of them being added was to try out for their A-League list," he said.
"If they land in the NPL, they probably won't go to them."
Sproules said it was possible one of the three might switch sides, but not all three. Earlier this month Ballarat City officially resumed training for the 2021 season.
The sessions have been led by new head coach Adam Grinholz, who was appointed in November. He was joined at the helm by Ryan Williams, who has been named as an assistant.
"Adam is going quite well, he and Ryan are working well together," Sproules said.
Ballarat City will play against Western United's youth squad in the newly formed National Premier League three competition in 2021.
It was set to enter the competition in 2020 before the season was cancelled.
