Letters to the Editor
I have lived in Sebastopol for 64 years and always used the post office. I don't see why Australia Post can't put another post office in Delacombe and we keep ours.

The seniors in Sebastopol would have trouble going to the Redan post office. A lot of them can walk to the Sebastopol Post Office whereas they can't get to the Redan post office.
Maria Dutton, Sebastopol.
Sebastopol has a lot of elderly citizens that rely on this post office to continue being open. This is where a lot of people go to pay their bills and buy stamps. To have to go to Delacombe or Redan is not so easy if you don't drive a car or have difficulty getting around.
Joy Craig, Sebastopol.
I'm sure the powers that be must not realise that the area that this office is relocating to is actually not in Sebastopol or Delacombe. It is in the postcode of 3351 Smythes Creek.
Wayne Schultz, Smythes Creek.
Thank you Paul Jenkins for your article about the Sebastopol post office. We don't want to lose it. Delacombe is big enough for one there now, but leave ours alone.
Sebastopol's community deserves to still have an office that is always busy, kept where it is, and has been for 163 years.
Not everyone has a car, so keeping it local is best for local residents. Also many country people pass through Albert st. coming in and out daily, so have their mail boxes there. As a town that prides itself on heritage, l believe that the Ballarat council should not let this happen. Please save our Sebastopol post office.
Glenda Donald, Sebastopol.
Why is it that, as usual, a bureaucratic act, without checking things out the post office in Sebastopol has been made. This is the only way the locals have to do business now as the bank has been closed for months.
Trying to access the Redan post office if you don't drive is difficult. However I don't expect anything else from somebody who does not live in Sebastopol.
John Braeckmans, Sebastopol.
EXTENDING THANKS
n the past 6 months I decided to write a book "My 47 Years in Real Estate" and I wanted to basically do two things namely tell the public of my experiences in one job during my working life as well as contribute the profits of sales of this book to a major charity the 3BA Christmas Appeal.
Firstly I would like to thank 3 BA's Peter Caligari and Brett McDonald for allowing me time "on air" to speak about my book and also to the Courier for their article in Saturday's 19th December edition of their paper.
As a result of this and my weeks of canvassing and selling the book to the many people in a wide area around Ballarat, hundreds of copies were sold.
The book and I were well accepted and I must say a special thank you to all those people who purchased it plus those who also gave some extra donations as well. As a result of my efforts, I was able to pass on $3,200 the 3BA Christmas appeal.
Again, thank you everyone who has supported my project over the past few weeks.
Neville Lewis, Smythes Creek.
