Ballarat rowers went straight to the the top of the podium as they enjoyed their first full-scale regatta of the season at Rutherglen at the weekend.

Freed up from many of the COVID-19 restrictions in place late last year, Ballarat City and Wendouree Ballarat clubs were prominent over the two days.
Ballarat City took 23 rowers and Wendouree Ballarat had seven.
A Ballarat City coach Grant McKechnie said it was great to be back rowing under normal conditions after difficulties for sport.
He said it was a busy schedule for some, but no one minded. "It was an enjoyable time for everyone."
He said for many Rutherglen began the countdown to the nationals in Tasmania in late March.
Ballarat Rowing Association hosts the next regatta for Rowing Victoria on Lake Wendouree on Saturday - launching a busy two months for the Ballarat rowing fraterniy.
Ballarat schools will have a strong respresentation at the event, with the Head of the Lake on Friday, February 19 in mind.
