The Bolts played their first game under lights at the Eastern Oval, taking on Melbourne University in round seven of the CV Women's Community Cricket North West (A) One Day competition.
University posted 107 before it was dismissed in the 32nd over. Nicole Edwards then led Ballarat's run chase with 40 at the top of the order, but the side was eventually bowled out for 102.
Bolts coach Emily McNeight was the standout with the ball for the hosts - taking 3-7 - and said it was a great experience for both teams on Saturday night.
"We all enjoyed ourselves, there was a bit of a crowd there," McNeight said.
"The atmosphere was just fantastic, they were cheering from the sidelines and it's good for women's cricket."
In the Barwon women's competition, Ballarat Navy defeated Modewarre by 25 runs on Saturday, while Ballarat Gold had its game with Geelong West Chapman postponed.
