An accused gunman who allegedly shot another man in the leg in Ballarat in October is contesting the charges.

Trevor Scott, 27, will appear at court in April for a half-day committal hearing.
His defence lawyer made a request to cross examine two lay witnesses and two police witnesses during the hearing.
Scott is facing six charges including intentionally shooting a man in the leg with a firearm in Lake Wendouree, causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury and placing the man in danger of death.
He is also charged with using a firearm as a prohibited person, possessing ammunition without holding a licence and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
The court heard police had completed a forensic examination of a jumper seized during Scott's arrest and analysis showed the presence of gunshot residue.
Scott remains in custody and did not make an application for bail.
