More than 4000 households and businesses are without power in the southern suburbs of Ballarat this afternoon. It is not yet known what caused the outage, although the Powercor website identifies the fault as being at the Midland Highway at Magpie. Customers have lost supply across Mt Helen, Sebastopol, Buninyong and Delacombe, as well as areas further south of Ballarat. "Network controllers and ground crews are working as quickly and as safely as possible to get all customers back on supply," said a Powercor spokesperson.
