The "COVID-19 Quick Response Community Grants program" is targeted at either helping community groups run business as normal under the restrictions, or to deliver new and existing projects that will help the communities in the region recover from COVID-19.
Golden Plains mayor Cr Helena Kirby said the region was "home to some fantastic community groups".
Cr Kirby added that the pandemic had changed many things about how community groups were able to operate, and said the funding was designed to allow them to operate in a COVID-safe way.
"I hope to see many take up this opportunity from Council to help them get back to what they love to do."
The council has also offered a rate discount to residents most affected by the pandemic, with up to $500 off for those who had lost their jobs.
Up to $4,000 is available per application for the latest grants from a total of $35,000.
For more information on applying for the grants, see http://goldenplains.vic.gov.au/grants, call 5220 7109 or email communitygrants@gplains.vic.gov.au. Applications close on February 1.
