After two losses and a tie in their previous three matches, Bolts defeated top team Caroline Springs for the second time this season.
Ballarat began 2020-21 with a flurry with four wins on end and is now back on track, still prominently placed in second position.
Bolts sent in Caroline Springs, which was on a three-game winning streak, at the Eastern Oval on Sunday and restricted the visitors to 7-94 off 36 overs.
Amelia Brown claimed her best figures for the season of 2-10 and Hayley Fleming finished with 2-13.
Ballarat replied with 5-95 inside 19 overs.
Emily McNeight was again among the runs with 30. She is averaging 31.
With six rounds remaining, Ballarat now meets Clifton Hill. They tied earlier in the season.
