Machinery to turn plastic into concrete slabs and a new factory to pluck out glass from other waste are among a slew of initiatives to share in more than $8 million of funding.

The money comes from the Recycling Modernisation Fund, a federal government initiative to leverage co-investment from the states and territories for local projects.
The seven Victorian projects are expected to double the state's glass recycling capacity, boost its plastic recycling by 40 per cent and create 350 jobs.
The ACT, Tasmania and Western Australia have already announced recycling projects under the fund, into which the federal government has injected $190 million.
Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley said the projects would help boost the local recycling industry as the government phased in bans on the export of waste plastics, paper, glass and tyres.
Victoria's Environment Minister Lily D'Ambrosio has described the projects as game changers, due to the sheer amount of plastic and glass they would divert from landfill.
"It means more jars, bottles and fibreglass made of recycled glass and plastic, which will also be used to build new roads and footpaths throughout Victoria," she said.
Another $38 million will be on offer for Victorian projects through a funding round open between March 22 and May 7.
