Angus Lyons has produced an impressive lead-in performance for the AusCycling Road National Championships in his hometown of Ballarat next week.

Lyons finished 11th overall in the South Australian Festival of Cycling four-day tour.
He rode for ARA Pro-Racing Sunshine Coast in the National Road Series event, which was won by WorldTour rider and multiple national champion Luke Durbridge.
Fellow Ballarat rider Nick White was 19th in the general classification, while Nick White did not finish the event.
Nick White was part of Team Bridgelane, which won the teams' category.
Lyons finished 20th, just behind the main chase group, in the opening 106.8km stage, which Durbridge won by two minutes, 24 seconds.
He was 18th in stage two (116km), seventh to Tour de France third placegetter Richie Porte on the torcherous ride up Willunga Hill and 32nd in a criterium to close out the event.
The 25-year-old Lyons, who was 30th in the road race at last year's nationals at Buninyong,
Lyons has performed strongly from limited opportunities since returning from a COVID-19 lockdown.
He won a stage of the Tweed Tour in New South Wales in early December in a sprint finish..
The road nationals, which are being contested a month later than usual, begin with time trials from Federation University's Mt Helen campus on Wednesday, February 3.
Time trials continue on Thursday, February 4, and pave the way for the criteriums in Ballarat CBD on Friday, February 5.
Road races will be contested at Buninyong on Saturday, February 6, and Sunday, February 7.
