Shannon Jeffrey, 32, was charged with murder on Friday.
Jeffrey was already in custody for other alleged offences and had made an application for bail last fortnight.
She did not appear at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Monday but was represented by her lawyer Maddie Carroll via video link for the filing hearing.
A charge sheet, obtained by The Courier, reveals Jeffrey is accused of murdering Ms Parfitt in Ballarat on April 28, 2020.

It follows an initial charge of murder laid against 31-year-old Wendouree man Brendan Prestage on December 30, one week after human remains were found down a mineshaft in Snake Valley.
Jeffrey's committal mention for the murder charge will be heard at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court in May.
She will return to court next week for the part heard bail application for other alleged offences.
Magistrate Ron Saines said Jeffrey was expected to appear at court via video link for the next hearing on Monday.
Jeffrey has been in custody since she was arrested in October.
