The plans include a new eight-metre bar, a ceiling over the seating area and a deck at the front of the property, expanding capacity to 50 people, while a pizza oven will also be installed.
Red Duck also plans to reintroduce its own spirits to its selection after the departure of Kilderkin Distillery, with stills currently on order.
Red Duck owner Scott Wilson-Browne said he planned to support local businesses as much as possible and keep the micro-brewery's open and welcoming atmosphere.

"We're very keen to support local producers, so there'll be local produce from Saltbush Kitchen and Goldfields Cheese on the pizzas, that sort of thing," he said.
"It also means with more seats, more capacity and food, we can all stay open later because it'll be worthwhile for everyone."
Mr Wilson-Browne said if approved, the increased capacity meant the venue could bring in up to three times as many people as what it could now.
"On a busy Saturday or Sunday, you might get 100 or 150 people come through instead of 30 or 40," he said.
"People always ask if we do brewery tours and it's pretty easy because when you're in here, you're in the brewery.
"If I'm here and anybody wants to ask me a question, come over, chew on some malt and have a look at what we're doing."
With Red Duck located in the middle of an Alfredton industrial precinct, Mr Wilson-Browne said the expansion plan would have zero effect on its neighbours and the surrounding area.
"We're in an area where we have zero impact on residents, all of our neighbors here are nine to five so staying open a few hours later isn't an issue," he said.
"It's not a noisy rock venue kind of thing, we're a craft brewery, we make traditional artisan beers so most people come and enjoy a quiet drink."
