The school buses for Ballarat College and St Pat's use this street to access the bus bays in Wanliss Road. They are not meant to use Durham Street as an access to Sturt Street but do regularly. This has caused significant damage to the road surface.
There are also many parents who use this street to park and pick up school children which creates issues around residents' access to parking and the poor state of the road edges.
Some resurfacing and edge treatments are desperately needed as are some speed humps to slow traffic and restrict the bus traffic.
Priscilla Herington, Newington.

The whole of Leith Street west of Skipton Street is an accident waiting to happen as a busy bypass between Pleasant Street to Victoria Street.
The sealed section of the road is hardly wide enough for two cars and continually has large holes.
There are speeding hoons because there are no speed bumps to slow people down especially when they are heading to the lights in Skipton Street if they are green.
IN OTHER NEWS
The whole road needs an upgrade, not just the roundabout at Talbot Street which seems like a waste of time as hardly any cars use it.
I am a resident of Leith Street who lives close to the traffic lights and the amount of near-misses is frightening.
Elizabeth French, Redan.
