WENDOUREE has moved to the top of the Ballarat Cricket Association Firsts ladder, thanks largely from back-to-back centuries from star opener Sam Miller.

Miller's 128 on Sunday against Mount Clear, on the back of an unbeaten 115 against Golden Point on Saturday, led the Red Caps to two victories, but Sunday's was a lot closer could have been expected.
Wendouree looked in control at the halfway point having made 8-267 from its 50 overs. But Mount Clear openers Jacob Smith (67) and Steven Nicholson (58) combined for a 119 run opening stand in reply.
A cameo 49 not out from Darren Fletcher nearly got Mount Clear home, eventually ending the innings on 7-255.
BALLARAT-Redan pulled off a miracle against North Ballarat, thanks to an inspired late spell from Matthew Aikman, who's two late wickets propelled his side to a four-run win.
Aikman's two wickets in the concluding stages and a final dismissal to Zac Jenkins breathed new life into the finals race with now just half a game separating teams five to seven on the ladder.
It looked like it would be how far North Ballarat when Ballarat-Redan struggled to just 136 from its 50 overs. But Ballarat-Redan's Billy Jones turned the match ripping through the middle-order with figures of 4-10.
DARLEY made a big statement with two convincing wins against Napoleons-Sebastopol and Brown Hill.
Chasing what looked a moderate score of 142 against Brown Hill on Sunday, Darley's opening batsman Anthony Taylor made sure there would be no nerves throughout the camp, smashing an unbeaten 95 off just 69 balls.
GOLDEN Point split the points across the weekend but it would have been pleased to see the batsmen fired across both games allowing the club to stay inside the top six for now.
Saturday's total of 8-202, led by Josh White's 76, would have usually been enough to secure a big win, had Wendouree's Miller's 115 not put pay to that.
On Sunday, it was the bowlers, particularly Andrew Warrick with 5-17, that made sure the batsmen didn't have to carry the team across the line. Golden Point routed Buninyong for just 76, losing just two wickets in the chase.
EAST Ballarat received the fright of its life against Napoleons-Sebastopol. East set what looked to be a strong 8-215 thanks largely to an opening partnership of 100 against the bottom-placed team, but its bowlers never really got into a rhythm as the underdogs chased hard.
In the end, it took a run out to end Napoleons-Sebastopol's resistance, all out for 205 in the 49th over in an impressive showing.
