Each lost knockout qualifying round fixtures on Saturday.
Ballarat lost to Glen Waverley in a penalty shoot out at Morshead Park after they were tied 2-all at full-time.

Following a hard-fought first half, the teams entered half-time locked at 1-all.
The visitors striked first coming out of the break, hitting the front mid-way through the second half.
Ballarat answered to tie the game at 2-all late in the second half, however eventually went down.
Jack Sheehan scored both of Ballarat's goals.
Daylesford and Hepburn United were unable to find the back of the net against Lilydale Montrose United, losing 3-0.
Bacchus Marsh fared the worst of the three sides, the Morwell Falcons dominating it on their way to a 6-1 win in the La Trobe Valley.
The sides will now look forward to the beginning of their season, kicking off in March and April.
