The Rebels were no match for Dandenong Stingrays - 12.2 (74) to 2.2 (14) - as they failed to scored in the second half.
GWV Rebels now have a bye in what has been stop-start opening to the season before two games in quick concession.
The Rebels will face Bendigo Pioneers in a rescheduled catch-up fixture at Epsom on Wednesday, March 10.
The round two match has been given a midweek timeslot after being postponed owing to a COVID-19 lockdown. This will be followed by another home game against Western Jets on Sunday, March 14.
GWV is having a mixed run, having lost to Geelong in the opening round and then easily overcoming Murray Bushrangers.
