Five clubs have scheduled the backbone of their practice match programs to begin on Saturday, March 13.
Reigning (2019) premier East Point is among them, set to meet Bendigo league premier Strathfieldsaye.
Bacchus Marsh, Lake Wendouree, North Ballarat and Redan have also planned games for that day.
Redan has already had a taste it, having clashed with Ballarat Swans at the City Oval mid-February.
Community football clubs have largely been unable to do anything other than train since the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions early last year.
The BFNL senior season is set to begin on Saturday, April 17, with a full round of matches.
