So many, in fact, that the field will be open again to the public this Saturday March 13 , from 10am until 4pm.
Last weekend the Sunflower for the Kids event raised $4,500 for the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne as part of this year's Good Friday Appeal. That's 900 sunflowers helping to improve the health and wellbeing of children who are having a rough time of life.
Once again there will be plenty of eager young helpers to assist anyone wanting to come and choose sunflowers, for sale at $5 a bloom. Mr McConachy says there's an option for people to pay by smartphone, as well as cash on the day, and that obviously all the proceeds will again go to Good Friday Appeal to assist the RCH.
This year the Good Friday Appeal celebrates 90 years of Giving for the Kids. Since 1931 the Good Friday Appeal has been dedicated to raising much-needed funds for equipment, research and education to support the work of The Royal Children's Hospital and whilst fundraising efforts are already underway, the appeal will take place on Friday 2 April.
