One goal in each half Maddy Ogden and Issy Johnstone was enough to get the team across the line.
Coach Laura Brady was delighted with the result, the team's first competitive hit-out in over 18 months.
"We played really well, passed the ball around and was a very composed performance," she said.
"We stuck to the game plan and controlled it throughout. Out goal keeper only had to make one save for the game from a free kick."
The first goal came after a corner kick in the 10th minute, while Johnstone's goal in the 62nd minute was the at the end of some strong play from Lucy Chester and Johnstone.
"It was nice to get the second goal, we would have liked it a little bit earlier, but it settled a lot of nerves," Brady said.
While the girls were celebrated it was a weekend best forgotten for the men's senior team after it suffered a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of North Sunshine Eagles, away at St Albans on Saturday.
After showing plenty in a 1-0 loss to Nunawading the week before, the Ballarat City boys were no match for the slick North Sunshine outfit.
It was a comprehensive performance from the Eagles who netted four first half goals, and gradually built on that advantage in the second half.
The under 21s also went down to the Eagles 3-1, but in an outstanding result, the under 19s had a big 5-0 win, highlighted by a hat-trick from Aussie Rules convert Ryan Thiesz.
