The Trust says given the number of Victorians who began walking as a hobby during the lockdown last year, it is hosting several immersive walking tours. One of the highlights will be the Ballarat Foto Walks, where professional photographers guide participants through Ballarat's heritage architecture while learning the art of photography.
The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is presenting the Ballarat Foto Walks' in collaboration with the Heritage Festival.
Guided by local photographers Dylan Leak and Peter Kervarec, participants of all ages, abilities, and levels of experience will learn the art of photography while exploring the heritage architecture and sites of Ballarat.
The pair will offer their knowledge into photography and give new outlooks on the city, helping participants capture it through the lens. Participants will meet at the National Centre For Photography in Lydiard Street North and need to bring a camera and/or phone, dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes for walking.
Dates and times for the walks are: Sun 18 April - 2pm to 3:30pm; Sat 24 April - 4:30pm to 6:30pm; Sun 25 April - 2pm to 3:30pm; Sat 01 May - 4:30pm to 6:30pm; Sun 02 May - 2pm - 3:30pm.
Entry Fees are Adults $40 and Concession $35, with pre-booking required at https://ballaratfoto.org/fotowalks
