Ballarat police are preparing a report for the coroner after a man died at the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the Gillies Street facility in Lake Gardens about 7.30am to reports a man was unresponsive in a pool.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man - a 70-year-old from Lal Lal - but he was unable to be revived.
Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
EARLIER, 9AM:
The Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre will be closed for the rest of the day after a man suffered a medical episode and died.
Police at the scene told The Courier that a man had a "medical event" and that the Coroner was investigating.
Emergency services were first called to the facility to reports a man was unresponsive in a pool about 7.30am.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man but he was unable to be revived.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A sign on the door says the centre will be closed for the rest of Monday.
There were multiple police cars and ambulances on scene at the Gillies Street centre.
Patrons are making their way out of the centre this morning while others have been turned away at the door.
