A two-car collision at the Gregory Street West intersection on Ring Road has left a person in hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 4.55pm on Wednesday afternoon.
A ute had collided with the passenger side of a van, blocking the north-bound lane.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed one person was taken to the Ballarat Base Hospital, but further details are not known at this time.
Another person was assessed at the scene but not taken to hospital.

Last November, there were two major collisions at the same intersection within a week of each other.
At the time, the City of Ballarat noted there were plans to install a roundabout at the intersection.
