Officers from Ballarat Highway Patrol caught the man allegedly drink driving with his son in the car yesterday afternoon.
The 58-year-old man was driving in a Sebastopol school zone when he was intercepted by police, just after 3.30pm.
The Sebastopol man returned a positive evidentiary breath test of .186.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1225.
The man is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol while driving.
