Deon McCann was arrested on February 5 after he stole items valued at $170, including an Xbox, from JB Hi-Fi, on two occasions.
He took the items from the shelf, moved to another area in the Mair Street store and placed them down his pants before leaving without paying.
At the time of the thefts, he was on bail and awaiting sentence for further thefts from shops, robbing an Uber driver and assaulting a woman and a Zagames staff member to which he pleaded guilty to in November.
McCann was sentenced on all charges at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Friday. He appeared via a video link from prison.
