The clubs will play for the annual White Ribbon Shield, with a member of the group attending the game and speaking at half-time of the senior football.

The game has become a regular part of the fixture each season since 2014 for the two clubs.

Jade Hateley, Deputy Chairperson, White Ribbon Ballarat, told The Courier it's a great way to educate people on these issues on a consistent basis.

"White Ribbon tends to be Australia's largest male led initiative to prevent violence against women, so taking an active role in community sports such as football is pretty crucial because that's where a lot of the boys and men are," she said.

"The new focus probably isn't so much on splitting it up as genders so much, it's really just about spreading the message as far and wide as possible.

"It allows it to be a regular and a consistent message."

Netball kicks off from 2:30pm, football from 2:35pm.
