The hosts bagged their first win of the season against Whittlesea last weekend but face a tough ask preparing for their third game in seven days.

"They'll be a relatively similar proposal," City coach Adam Grinholz said.

"They're similar to (our past two opponents) Whittlesea and Clifton Hill.

"We're expecting we'll have a similar kind of gameplay.

"We're looking to score the first goal, then put them on the back foot and force them out of their shape as early as possible."

Right-back Xagai Douhadji will return to the starting line-up, having been rested for the Cup clash.

"He's coming back from a hamstring issue, so three games in seven days is not physically OK for him," Grinholz said.

"Athletically, he's amazing and such a difference-maker.

"It also us to play someone like Huri Mwarabu, who was brilliant (against Clifton Hill midweek), through the middle at centre-back."

Defender Tristan Romein was a late substitution in the Cup game with cramping issues but is expected to be right for the weekend.

The men's game kicks off at Morshead Park at 3pm on Saturday, while the women play at Elwood at 3pm the following day.
