A police media spokesperson has confirmed a 37-year-old man from Bullarook died in the crash on the Bungaree-Creswick Road early on Saturday morning. His next of kin have been informed.
UPDATE Saturday 1.25pm:
Victoria Police Media has confirmed a man has died following a single vehicle collision on the Bungaree-Creswick Road.
According to the media release, it is believed the car crashed into a tree overnight.
A passer-by found the car about 8am on Saturday morning, and the male driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing," the release states.
"Police will prepare a report for the coroner."

UPDATE SATURDAY 12.55pm:
Road blocks will be in place for some hours on the Bungaree-Creswick Road just north of Wattle Flat Road following a serious incident this morning.
Police at the scene confirmed they were called at 8.20am to a single car collision on Bungaree-Creswick Road, about 200 metres north of of the Wattle Flat Road intersection, where one male has reportedly died.
The vehicle was travelling southbound at the time.
Emergency workers are on the eastern side of the road.
Police are telling motorists the area will be closed "for some time".
Diversions are in place on Howards Road and Boundary Church Road.
There are no other details on the nature of the incident, when it occurred, or the person involved at this time.

Rescue crews are on their way to a reported road accident near Wattle Flat.
The alert went out at 11.43am, at the Bungaree-Creswick Road and Wattle Flat Road intersection.
A person has reportedly died at the scene.
