The Hoppers trailed the reigning premiers by 25 points at three-quarter time, however, rallied to kick six goals to one in the final term and win 11.10 (76) to 10.13 (73).

Co-coach Brad Macgowan told The Courier it was a superb final quarter in a history making win for the club.

"It was a fantastic comeback and it was an exciting game. There were pretty excited scenes after the game because the reality is Rokewood have never beaten Waubra in a senior game of footy before," he said.

"We had people coming up after the game shaking our hands and the old guys with tears in their eyes.

"It's just a sign of the fact that Waubra has been such a strong team for so long, so for a team like Rokewood to be able to have some success against them, they were rapt."

The Hoppers hit the front with about two minutes remaining. Tom Nash had the chance to win the game for the Roos with seconds remaining, however, his shot was off target and the siren blew.

In other results, winless teams Daylesford, Springbank and Bungaree all got their first wins of the season.

Daylesford were too strong for Ballan 11.13 (79) to 5.6 (36).

Springbank held on in a thriller to beat Dunnstown 8.12 (60) to 7.16 (58).

Bungaree dominated from start to finish against Beaufort, keeping them to 1.2 (8) while kicking 13.13 (91).

Coach Ryan Waight said his side got back to playing how it wanted to after a disappointing round three loss to Dunnstown.

"Probably the most pleasing thing was we threw our young blokes around, the guys that have probably been a bit down on confidence, put them in some important positions and they were our best players," he said.

"We were really disappointed in the Dunnstown game ... our effort, our attitude, our ability to care just wasn't there.

"We really turned that around this week which was really pleasing."
