Coach Peter Forbes told The Courier it was nice to be on the field again and playing.
"It was just pleasing to be playing again. Been 617 days I think between (games) and the girls were just super keen to get out there and display their skills and do what they love which is playing footy," he said.
"We've built our game around contested ball. I was really happy that they were able to execute that in that first quarter.
"Then as the game went on I was really impressed with their skills after such a long layoff, we're starting to come together in terms of teamwork which I was very pleased with."
The side wore black armbands in honour of former men's footballer Gus Cleary and Forbes' father John.
Redan now sits atop the BFLW ladder with a percentage of 3300.00. It looks forward to a clash with Darley in round three, who is undefeated through two rounds.
