Like the Rush, Ringwood has two wins on the board this season, but after after the Rush were able to hold top side Frankston to just 61 points in the last round, forward Burton believes there's every chance for a win this week.
"It's a good opportunity to get a win," she said. "I think we match up well against Ringwood.
"We've been training hard, trying to get everything ready for the weekend.
"We took quite a lot from the last game, our defence was quite good against Frankston and what we learned was how much it comes back to our offence, moving the ball, setting hard screens, really making our shots when they count.
"We've got a very positive outlook from that game. When you look at the players they've got, we showed we can match them and if we can do that, we can match any team."
The last two contests, both at home, the Rush have showed some good signs without getting the. It's fair to say they lost the match with Bendigo after giving up a 14-point lead, rather than the opposition winning it, but realistically after an 8-0 start against were never looking likely to beat Frankston.
The Rush will be hoping key tall Kristy Rinaldi will be able to get up for the contest after she sat out the last match with a leg injury
"Kristy is a week-by-week situation and we're hoping she can get up this weekend, but right now we're not too sure," Burton said.
Burton said this week's opposition would be difficult, but she was confident the Rush could match them.
"Ringwood have a number of decent players, Marena Whittle is a guard, she's absolute baller, she's terrific," she said.
"Toni Farnworth has lots of experience, a New Zealand international, they've got Demi Skinner forward who's a three point shooter, they've got weapons all over the court, so we really need to lock them down."
Burton agreed it was important to get into the game early.
"The start is critical, you need to get on the board early to get in the game, and that didn't happen at the weekend," she said
"But it's just how it rolls, you've got to remain positive that when the time comes you'll knock down the shots.
"We are such a young team, but we're holding our own. People might want to count us out of those games, but we're definitely in them until the fourth quarter, every game is winnable for us and when we put our mind to it, we will get wins on the board.
"We need to shoot the ball better, set hard screens and look out for each other when they are open." Ringwood versus Ballarat is at The Rings on Saturday night from 6pm.
