Hepburn coach Gary Cooke told The Courier despite the score, it was a tough contest for his team for four quarters.
"The score doesn't show what the game was about, it was a tough game," he said.
"Springbank are a skilled team, so we had to fight to get that score."
The win is Hepburn's fifth on the trot and takes its total goals to 385 for the season, averaging out to an astounding 77 a game.
Allowing just 101 goals through those five games, Cooke said he's pleased with the defensive and offensive side of his team's game so far this season.
"Each year there's something that we just don't feel we've got quite right, so we're happy this year that our goal shooting and scoring seems to be working well," he said.
"Our defence seems to be working well even though that's the end that we've mixed up the most.
"Our mid-court seems to be working really well, so at the moment we're quite happy with how the three are connecting and working for us."
The win sets up a can't miss contest with Buninyong in two weeks time. The Bombers will take on Beaufort in round seven, Hepburn travelling to Newlyn.
If both can claim victories, they'll enter a possible grand final preview undefeated, a clash Cooke's side is looking forward to.
"It's going to be a massive game," Cooke said.
"Buninyong are a superb team, they're really well coached and they're packed full of really good players.
"We need to have our A-game on the day.
In other results, Rokewood-Corindhap continued its solid start to the year with a 14-goal win over the win-less Bugaree, 55-41.
Buninyong knocked up-and-comers Dunnstown down a peg with a 68-21 win.
The Bombers have had an impressive start to the season defensively, allowing just 81 goals through their first five games, the best in the league by 20 goals (excluding Learmonth that have played one less game).
Clunes claimed its second win of the year with a 50-40 win over Carngham-Linton.
Beaufort got back on the winners list despite a strong showing from Newlyn, 40-30 winners.
Skipton ended a three game losing streak with a 15-goal win over Creswick, 47-32.
Waubra handed the struggling Ballan another big loss, the final score 59-27.
