The Beaufort export had started a rehabilitation after a successful surgery to stabilise a tendon to alleviate persistent pain on his right groin.
The 26-year-old is expected to miss 8-10 weeks before being available for selection.

"We're very hopeful Matt will be available for selection later in the season," Crows head of football Adam Kelly said.
"Given that surgery has just been undergone, it's difficult to put a timeline on it, but early indication is somewhere around 10 weeks."
Crouch has not played since a pre-season match in March.
Elsewhere, Brisbane has still not put a timeframe on Jarrod Berry's groin injury though the former Rebels captain has resumed running at training.
The 23-year-old missed a seventh-straight match at the weekend.
